Our Story

It all started with a “not my best day” type of occurrence.  In June of 1999, Matthew Howe was on his way to another soccer game when someone turned in front of the car he was riding in.  The law of inertia + airbags = two broken arms (pictured above)  The top row of pictures, left to right: my left arm before, my right arm after x 2.  The second row of images My right arm after, my left arm after, my right arm before, and my NCBTMB Certification (October, 2000).  Mr. Howe went from two broken arms to a Nationally Certified, state licensed (FL) massage therapist.

From these formative years of being a massage professional, Mr. Howe realized that massage education was a critical part of success.  Success for massage therapists and the massage and bodywork profession as a whole.  Matthew worked with some incredible massage therapists in his years at various spas.  Through these relationships the idea of Touch Education was born in 2002.  It was not until 2007 that Touch Education became certified to teach continuing education by the NCBTMB.

Each of our workshops are the result of demand, passion, professional development, and a call to educate.  Matthew came to realize through his successes and failures that in order for Touch Education to reach more professionals he need to bring on additional instructors.  These instructors would have to share the same values for bodywork and education as Mr. Howe, and they do.  In the spring of 2010 Touch Education began to search for new modalities and instructors to teach these modalities.  These instructors have a passion for what they teach as well as a solid knowledge base in which to share from.  Dr. Orman, Ms. Davis, and Ms. Giammarinaro are happy additions to the Touch Education family.  We look forward to the opportunity to share our knowledge and passion with you in the coming months and years.
